Each one is filled with 30 pages of handmade khadda paper, acid-free and interleaved with tissue paper to protect and preserve your photographs. The album can hold up to 240 6x4 photos. Expertly crafted using both contemporary and traditional methods, each one is bound by hand and sturdy enough to keep all your most treasured memories safe. The leather used for the cover is a by-product of the meat industry in India and is tanned using only natural dyes. Protected with natural oils, it will soften and age beautifully. The pattern might not be exactly the same as the one pictured, but it will be just as beautiful. The pages are created from khadda paper (also known as kaddi or khaddi). This material is crafted by hand from repurposed cotton, salvaged from the huge waste of the Indian garment industry. Only unbleached cotton is used, ensuring the paper is acid-free. Lightly textured and luxuriously thick, it feels beautiful to write, draw, or paint on. While its perfect for ball-point pens, gel pens, or watercolours, we wouldnt recommend it for use with fountain pens. Photos can be placed inside the photo album with glue, spray mount, or self-adhesive photo corners. Due to the nature of the material and handmade quality of this product, each album is unique and comes with its own set of beautiful creases, bumps and marks that develop with age into something truly special. This frame has a glass window to display and protect the photograph, and a stand for portrait or landscape orientation on flat surfaces. Our frames are made entirely by hand using traditional skills handed down from one generation to the next. The front is crafted from individual resin tiles, painted and pieced together to create the unique design. The structure of the frame is crafted from mango wood. Mango trees have an incredibly long life, but eventually stop bearing fruit and are replaced by younger trees.
