The 400 hectares of vineyards are located at an altitude that often exceeds a thousand meters, on pebbly soils of alluvial origin, with a climate characterized by dry and sunny summers, with significant day-night temperature variations. These pedoclimatic conditions favor the production of excellent-quality grapes. The Cabernet Sauvignon Mendoza from Rutini's Colección line is produced with grapes from the vineyards of Gualtallary and Altamira. In the glass, the wine shows an intense ruby-red color. The aromatic profile is deep and complex, with notes of black fruit, followed by hints of cocoa, tobacco, pepper and spicy touches reminiscent of vanilla, due to the aging of 12 months in French oak. On the palate, the wine shows a good concentration of red fruit, and firm but enveloping and silky tannins that denote personality and finesse. The finish is long and persistent. Renowned for his work as a “flying winemaker” consulting with top wineries across the world, Michel Rolland also owns three estates in Argentina. Rolland’s love affair with the land of tango began in the late 1980s when he was invited to meet with the Etcharts whose family winery was located in northern Argentina. It wasn’t long before Rolland also founded a winery in Mendoza where his classic Mariflor Malbecs are now made. Grapes for the Mariflor Malbec are sourced from the highest estate vineyards on the Clos de los Siete property in Vista Flores which sit at 1100 metres above sea level. Conditions here are ideal for making robust and rich red wines thanks to the plentiful sunshine and large temperature difference between the day and night. This helps the grapes to ripen fully while preserving freshness and aromatics in the wine. The grapes are carefully harvested by hand in small boxes in the early morning and then sorted on arrival at the winery to maintain quality. They are then fermented in concrete tanks and the young wine ages in French oak barrels for 15 months before bottling. El Enemigo was founded by two of Argentina’s most legendary names; Catena Zapata’s chief winemaker Alejandro Vigil and historian Adrianna Catena whose passion for wine comes from her father, the famous winemaker Nicolas Catena. Located in the Loire Valley, this estate has been owned by Anne-Claude Leflaive, of the famous Puligny-Montrachet estate since 2008 and has been managed by Sylvain Potain since 2009. The company focuses its production on the local Cabernet Franc, Chenin Blanc, Grolleau, and Cabernet Sauvignon vines and cultivates its vineyards biodynamically and the work is carried out according to the rhythms of the biodynamic calendar. The grapes benefit from clay-limestone soils, with red sandstone and flint. The wines are aged for 12 -24 months in old barrels stored inside troglodyte caves. Cabernet Franc grapes come from vineyards aged between 45 and 55 years. After manual selection and harvest, fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts and minimal interventions. The finished wine is then aged 12 months on the fine lees in Burgundy barrels and then a further 6 months in vats. This Cabernet Franc is a brilliantly colored wine with ruby red tones. On the nose, it reveals a fruity and sweet aromatic profile with floral hints and some spicy notes. On the palate, it is fruity and juicy, balanced and with delicate tannins. The finish is pleasant and recalls notes of cooked fruit. It is a splendid example of Loire Cabernet Franc and pairs beautifully with pork and some vegetarian recipes.

The grapes come from the Las Casas and La Lazos parcels, respectively, both located in the Millahue Valley, where the Mediterranean climate is influenced and tempered by the ocean, which moderates maximum temperatures. The Cabernet Franc vines are planted in silty-clay soils, which favor the aromatic development of the grapes. The Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards, on the other hand, benefit from sandy-clay colluvial soils with 50% sand, which guarantee the production of wines with firm and elegant tannins. After vinification, the wine ages for 12 months in barrels made exclusively from the estate's oak.
